The Power of Thoughts – Why You Are What You Think!

Thoughts can be powerful in fact so powerful that they create the world around us. What we focus on and think about most is attracted towards us i.e. the law of attraction holds true universally. Like attracts like and we are all akin to transmission tower that transmits different frequencies that reach beyond cities, countries into the universe. The pictures we receive from the transmission are not shown over the television screen – they are the pictures of our life.

Should I Care if I Wasn’t There?

The 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina recently passed, and it has been in the news a lot these days. There have been stories following up with people, highlighting the state of Louisiana and the aftermath of one of the worst Hurricanes in United States history. Hurricane Katrina was notorious, not only because of the damage sustained, but because of the government’s delay in getting help to the people who were stranded and whose homes were destroyed. People had to live in airports for several days, even weeks before emergency assistance came to the state.

Parenting through the Eyes of a Woman

If you follow Brothers Nader and Raz on their YouTube accounts, you’ll know they both recently uploaded 2 raw, real and truthful videos about what it’s like to have kids. While I laughed and nodded my head in agreement to almost everything they had to say, I couldn’t help but think a woman’s perspective was needed in this ongoing series of “the realties of having children”. I’m not quite that ambitious to put myself out there on YouTube, so I figured a blog post would suffice instead. This is what I feel about having kids:

Breaking up with a Friend: Why It’s the Hardest Breakup of All

It’s silly, but when I was younger I used to have a fridge magnet that summed up my very-picky social life. The writing on it said “Friends Are The Family We Choose For Ourselves”, and I used to smile from ear to ear every time I read those words. My definition of a best friend back then was basically a person I can talk to till sunrise and doesn’t judge me for eating two family-sized chocolate bars on a daily basis!

Death Leads a Young Mind to Old Questions

“I guess the birds went to heaven” Kay said as we walked to the store. “I guess…” I said, not really knowing how to answer that. Three birds had built a nest underneath an apartment air conditioner in our building, but the bird and its eggs fell out, three stories down, killing them instantly. The dead birds were laying there on the ground, and I could tell it bothered Kay a little bit. My sister picked up the birds and we tossed them away.

Hunting Happiness: Why Am I Always Sad?

I had pondered for a good while. What is the most apt adjective for the title of this article? Chasing? Pursuing? Wanting? No, we’re hungrier. We’re actually starving. Our very souls are craving happiness; that true form of joy that is ever so elusive. Satan has utilised this hunger and we’ve become predators, preying on every chance of satisfying the beasts within.

Gone before This World Even Let Them Live

Complete rage. That’s what I feel.

It’s been over a month now and I still don’t know what words can help express myself, my emotions about the Chapel Hill shootings. And day by day, I see more and more shootings filling my news-feed. Muslims. Blacks. Latinos. Victims. Gone before this world even let them live.

Seeing the Light

One year ago, my personal life flipped on its head. I was happily married, had two beautiful healthy girls, a house, a great job, and a great life. And in a blink, it was threatened April fools 2014. In a short time, lies, betrayal and disrespect were exposed in my marriage, the job I loved was ripped away from me on a technicality, and I lost friends due to both.

Remember to Remind

For several days I was working on a project at work that was rather difficult. It took a lot of organizing, planning and follow ups to make sure it was done right. When it was finally completed last week, I was really happy with how it turned out. The documents were typed correctly, the clients seemed happy and it was done in a quick manner – all good things.
